what gets your gut going?
While Athletic Greens makes it sweep around the West, consumers are turning their eye to gut health.
For good reason.
Not only used for digestion, the stomach has neurons in its lining, which means it is a second brain.
Gut intuition starting to make sense?
The gut also holds the wisdom of bacteria that have been around for far, far longer than we have. The gut microbiome is expansive (100 trillion microbes expansive).
Your gut contains something larger than (your) life.
At this point, half of you aren’t reading anymore. The other half keyed in on something crucial - that it’s safe to say we can trust the gut’s diverse intelligence.
Intuition.
We need it to survive.
We still don’t know how to pharmaceutically maintain the thriving microbiotic ecosystem. I’m going to posit that maybe it just needs… attention?
Doing the body scan regularly will enhance your connection to your gut’s intuition.
This is a meditative practice that focuses on the sensation felt in your body.
Doing it regularly will also help your mental health.
Meditation may just be how we keep ourselves from going insane via:
Why does meditation keep us sane?
One word: flow. Flow is: being fully present in the moment.
The book Flow describes: “an insight that many of us can intuitively grasp, despite our insistent (and culturally supported) denial of this truth…”. (cited)
The insight? “During flow, people typically experience deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life.”
Why do we need the flow state more than ever, now?
Can you feel the push? The tension in the air, everywhere? The USA feels pressure to exercise a moral hand by the mounting pressures both internally and in the East.
No one is really, erm, happy. . . with late stage capitalism.
The pandemic unearthed astonishing discoveries of our global society’s fractures, which seemingly grow in their divide.
It’s certain our global systems will need to change, but how?
With one acknowledgement: There’s no room for politics and common morality, spirituality, to be fully separate.
Did you know the Founding Fathers coined separation of church and state in part because the Catholic Church deemed Galileo, the correct pioneer of the heliocentric model, a heretic?
There was too little space between church and state.
Now, 300 years later, it’s time to counter correct.
🍻call it bureaucracy vs spirituality.
Lil Yachty’s new music video for single SOLO STEPPIN CRETE BOY balances this duality perfectly.
He’s saying what we all know - there is a collective spirituality rising. People are beginning to turn a nose in the air to injustice. The two are clearly positioned in opposition, and the outcome is clear.
We’re in for an intense combat between social and technological advancement in the next 10 years.
This is us now:
Here, we have Burning Man, a pop-up island society within (outside?) of the United States. It is a legitimate social movement generating an alternative economic ecosystem based on common social rhetoric.
This particular economy is intrinsically tied to radical social freedom; nothing is bought, but rather, everything freely gifted.
Are these the hummings of a new reality?
As we live on together, let’s not forget about spirituality completely.
That body scan we recommended? The one that will help you tune into your gut-brain axis? It’s Buddhist.
The space between science and divinity may not be as far as we think; simple loving kindness has been proven to improve health outcomes.

Twin flame. In here, we’re getting close to the fire.
Would you have phrased something differently? Left an entire section out? Curious for a certain subject? Write me back.
Especially if you can debate me on how capitalism has changed Burning Man.
